About Us

We are located in the lovely Yakima Valley, rich in agriculture bounty full of fruit orchards, well-known wineries, and beautiful vineyards. Our 300 days of sunshine and alkaline soil make for ideal conditions for growing lavender.

In 2000, our first plants went in the ground. Before we planted ourselves here, our plants were here. It was a lot of work going back and forth with two young daughters but well worth it. Our home is now finished and we enjoy living among the beauty of those first plantings and now with another new acre planted.

Our plants flourish on our sunny hilltop with views of Mount Rainier and Mount Adams.    We enjoy a 360-degree country view. Selah Ridge is just to our north. There are fruit orchards, alfalfa, horses, llamas and Selah Heights winery across the way.

Since insects do not bother lavender, we do not use pesticides. We believe in using the natural approach in controlling weeds. Using the natural approach however means we are not 100% weed free. In order to keep the weeds down we use barrier, mulch and good old-fashioned pulling. Here at Selah Ridge Lavender Farm we put a lot of sweat and love into our plants.

We grow several varieties of lavender.   Such as the Lavandins:   Grosso, Hidcote Giant, Provence, Super, and the Angustifolias: Royal Purple and Royal Velvet, Hidcote, Hidcote Pink, and Munstead.   The tender French varieties all though attractive do not do well here in zone 6.

We are in constant progression around the farm. As we add more plants every year, we are also growing and improving our wonderful skin care line as well.   The belief in being all-natural in caring for our plants is our same philosophy in what we put in our skin care products. We use some the finest ingredients and exotic oils from around the world.   Our customers love the extra effort we put in the handcrafted soaps, lotions, oils and more!

Besides being useful therapeutically, in culinary, and in skin care lavender is lovely in home décor. We have created some beautiful dried arrangements, and wreaths.

We invite you to call and set up a time to come visit our beautiful farm and surroundings.

Cut a bunch or two of our wonderfully fragrant lavender, and just sit and relax in the peaceful settings.
